Within two weeks of the DAR residence, Australian artist, theatre-maker, producer and performer
Bron Batten has been working on the improvisation with pupils from Rytas gymnasium in Druskininkai.
The final show, which consisted of various short improvisations and plays was performed on 26 June 2015 in Druskininkai, by pupils of Rytas gymnasium: Rokas Bašinskas, Karolina Cebatoriūtė, Edvinas Krupinskas, Gintė Petrulionytė, Valentinas Rimgaila, and Adelė Vaicikevičiūtė.
I had such a lovely time working in Druskininkai and meeting the young people that I worked with! The house is great and biking through the woods is a really special memory that I have from my time in Lithuania. It was great meeting other artists who were staying at the cottages, such as Bruno and Nina and Artūras when he visited from Vilnius. When I first got to town it was a bit strange as I didn't really know what I was meant to be doing at first, but once I met the kids and started working with them it all fell into place. Monika also looked after me and showed me around town! Thanks so much again for having me. I would very much like to come back to Lithuania one day!
